Build A Recruitment Website
By Nancy Holloway-Prince
Websites designed to recruit individuals for membership for Internet affiliate programs, brick & mortar or an online employment agency should include basic information about the organization and sufficient motivation to apply for employment or join the organization. Most recruitment websites differ from basic websites because they require the visitor to fill out an online application, provide financial information and or take an online test.
Expect to spend an extensive amount of time investigating the most popular recruitment websites before developing an initial website design. Recruitment websites must be intuitive or user friendly. Consider asking friends, family or business associates their opinion about what makes a recruitment website user friendly.
Start designing your recruitment website with an outline of the proposed navigation menu that includes instruction on how to best navigate the recruitment website. Use word processing software for the initial design layout.
Develop an initial layout of how the recruitment website will appear to visitors before creating the actual website. Include web page background colors, colors to be used for each column and font style and colors.
Collect, organize and edit logos, photo images, graphs and web page navigation buttons. Save all of the proposed website content in the same folder.
Develop a Welcome page for visitors to the recruitment website. Make clear statements on another page regarding what the organization is looking for and identify the type of candidates the organization is attempting to recruit.
Provide Information about the organizations history and an online application form to be filled out online with a place to attach or link to a resume and references.
Include another form if financial information will be required for payments, contact information that includes email and a phone number should also be visible.
Create a page for the organizations client testimonials, this will help motivate prospective recruits or applicants.
Select an html editor and start compiling the recruitment website according to the initial outline and layout. Once each page has been created linked with text, online forms and images test the accuracy of the online form and links by filling each form out just as a visitor is expected. Navigate to each page of the recruitment website.
Solicited the opinion of friends, family and associates and make a list of suggestions. Evaluate each suggestion honestly and make any changes that will improve the website.
Review any new changes and have no fewer than three people review the recruitment website for additional input. Make sure the recruitment website is cross browser compatible by viewing the website with two of the most popular Internet browsers.
