Yes, I have found my “sea legs”!!!. Currently, I am down below in the Crew Mess aboard the Royal Princess on a world cruise. We departed Fort Lauderdale on 1/20/09 and I have been struggling with seasickness ever since. Yesterday I had a fever and the night before chills.
In St. Thomas, I worked outside on my terrace after tennis and before the beach. Being inside had taken its toll on what my body had become accustom to. But now I am rearing to go.
The conditions at sea are as they say mirror calm and we are steaming ahead to Equator. I am the computer instructor and despite my health issues I am having a great time. The Australian Open Tennis Tournament is on in the Crew Mess and at last I am able to work with the energy and excitement that bogging about a world cruise deserves!
I will teach four classes today they are almost all booked, a record.
My cabin is a passenger stateroom with a steward that cleans the room like a four star hotel complete with the mint on the pillow at night. My roommate is the ships Internet Café Manager and our schedules are very different. With two workingwomen in the same cabin the steward is very busy and extremely competent I think it is love.
The food on board the Royal Princess is divine and as you may imagine plentiful. My number one personal objective is to keep my job, second not to gain weight and third save money.
My business objectives include representing worlddome.com clients including my first client the great contemporary artist Jerry Wray. Please visit Mrs. Wray’s website, she was worlddome’s first client and I love her.
The average cost of a world cruise is $20,000 even in today’s market. I cruise as a passenger with pay. Yes this is the life! I am determine to conquer my problem with motion sickness in part because this is my retirement plan.
So far we have had only one port call at Grand Cayman and we have passed through the Panama Canal. I love Panama for the lush green landscape. Panama City looks twice the size of downtown Los Angeles where I am originally from. I do miss my family, friends at Sub-Base Tennis Courts, Brewers Bay Beach, and of course the posse.
